beretta Firearms – charity for cops killed in action
Beretta firearms, the company most known throughout the world and history for their weapons manufacturing, also has a charitable side that most people would be surprised to hear about. Seeing as beretta firearms are one of the most popular handguns for law enforcement officials, they decided to add a little benefits program to purchasers of the gun, called Project Allegiance.
HERE’S A BREAK-DOWN OF THE MANY DIFFERENT LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES CURRENTLY USING BERETTA FIREARMS. IN PORTUGAL THESE BERETTA FIREARMS WERE USED BY REPUBLICAN NATIONAL GUARD AND PUBLIC SECURITY POLICE. IN ARGENTINA, A QUANTITY OF 1,500 BERETTA FIREARMS WERE PURCHASED IN 2010 BY THE BUENOS AIRES METROPOLITAN POLICE DEPARTMENT. FURTHERMORE – 4,000 WERE ORDERED BY THE SOUTH AFRICAN POLICE DEPARTMENT IN JANUARY 2010. THIS GUN IS ALSO USED BY THE CANADIAN BORDER SERVICES AGENCY AS WELL AS THE ROYAL MALAYSIAN POLICE AS A NEW SERVICE PISTOL, REPLACING THE THE 70S-ERA .38 SPECIAL SMITH & WESSON MODEL 15 SERVICE REVOLVERS. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, BECAUSE IT’S THE BEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD, THE UNITED STATES USES THESE GUNS IN THE MARYLAND STATE POLICE, THE SPARTA, NEW JERSEY POLICE DEPARTMENT, THE PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND POLICE DEPARTMENT, THE FRESNO POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND THE ROCHESTER, NEW YORK POLICE DEPARTMENT.
Here’s how the program works: Project Allegiance has Beretta USA paying a $10,000 death benefit for any law enforcement officer who participates in the program. “Participate” means purchasing a Px4, and registering with the program. It is good for three years after the purchase. Beretta firearms is also offering free counseling, legal, and financial advice to the survivors of the officer who is killed in the line of duty as part of the program.
