Beretta 92FS - Get Yourself a Beretta Handgun
The Beretta 92FS was the first semi-auto handgun I had ever fired. I was working for a private investigator in California and had to “qualify” with the Beretta 92FS. I upgraded to the Pachmayr grips because the grip was a bit narrow. I absolutely loved the Pachmayrs. Also this gun field strips in about 4 seconds and is very smooth firing. Never had a stovepipe with the exception of using cheap ammo with aluminum casings, which I only did once.
I don’t know why anyone would buy something other than the Beretta 92FS, unless they are buying some other type of Beretta handgun. From what I can tell, there is no better gun manufacturer than Beretta. When good quality ammunition is used, I have never experienced a malfunction. However, with lower grade practice ammo, I have experienced some ramp/feed problems. This was solved by having a gunsmith polish the feed ramp. I recently added a laser to my Beretta 92FS. I would recommend that officers intending to do this consider the grip laser. This product is extremely accurate and visible in most daylight conditions. In addition, it does not modify the operational mechanics of the weapon in any way. All in all, I highly recommend the Beretta 92FS, or some other Beretta handgun, to anyone who is looking for a reliable firearm.
