Beretta Neos - Ruger doesn’t match Beretta Neos in this column

 A friend was out at the shooting range, just shooting a beretta neos and later, came back and told me this story verbatim:

“Just picked up my first 9mm and after some research I went with the Ruger SR9. So far over all I like the pistol but have a few questions about my SR9 that maybe you guys and gals who have one can answer. Is Ruger slipping in the quality control department or did I just get a lemon as far as aesthetics go? The pistol came with a few rough spots that seem like Ruger is cutting corners. I don’t have some of the before photos but at the tip of the frame near the muzzle I had to trim off burrs of left over polymer that were hanging off. Inside the pistol during initial cleaning I found a bit of metal shavings around the barrel which has some bad pitting tool marks that feel like a tool slipped and gouged it and on the exterior the serial plate isn’t as clean looking as I have seen on other SR9s. It has a lot of overrun on the serial plate. Also the rear sight wind age screw when loosened to drift the sight caused the plastic to buckle after only a quarter turn. Oh and I forgot to mention the slide was chipped by the rear sight and the rear plate by the strike has a gouge in it as well as a mark like a razor cut on the frame where my thumb would rest if I held the gun one handed in my left hand.”
