Beretta pistols - Won Over By the Beretta Neos
I originally held off on buying the Beretta Neos because I didn’t like the long barrel, then I found it came with a 4.5″. I picked up the SS (Inox) version with the 4.5″ barrel. Have taken this Beretta pistols to the range several times and have run several hundred rounds through it. I really like this gun a lot. The Beretta is well designed. Although it looks a bit unusual, the grip is actually very comfortable and with its location moved forward it has a wonderful balance to it. The Beretta Neos grip is smaller than my other .22 but still feels good in the hand. In the 4.5″ version, there is no front heaviness to the gun at all, it’s nicely balanced which makes targeting easy and hand fatigue non-existent. There is also less barrel pulling when squeezing the trigger and it feels like less movement on recoil. Also on the Beretta Neos, the magazine release is well located and is very smooth for both release and insertion. The feel of this gun is superb, a job well done. On the performance side, the Beretta Neos performed flawlessly in every respect. No failure to feeds, no jams, no mis-fires, no slide issues. Perfect performance from right out of the box to present. The Beretta Neos is quite accurate, but I’m not surprised because all Beretta pistols are known for their accuracy. Overall, Beretta pistols just perform better than other brands.
I LIKE BOTH OF MY 22 BERETTA PISTOLS A LOT BUT IF I JOIN A 22 LEAGUE, I’LL BE BRINGING THE BERETTA NEOS. AS AN ADDITIONAL NOTE, I HAVE RUN HUNDREDS OF ROUNDS THROUGH THIS GUN NOW. TO DATE, NO FAILURE TO FEEDS AND NO MISFIRES. I SHOOT A VARIETY OF AMMO BUT I MAKE SURE THEY MEET CERTAIN CRITERIA. SEMI-AUTO BERETTA PISTOLS 22′S NEED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF FORCE TO OPERATE THE ACTION PROPERLY; BUYING LOW POWER CHEAP AMMO MAY LEAD TO FRUSTRATED OUTINGS. I ONLY SHOOT THE HIGHER ENERGY LOADS IN THE BERETTA PISTOLS. THIS DOES NOT MEAN EXPENSIVE THOUGH. THE FEDERAL 510 FOR EXAMPLE SHOOTS VERY WELL AND IS ONE OF THE CHEAPER CARTRIDGES OUT THERE. MY BASIC RULE OF THUMB FOR THE BERETTA PISTOLS IS AT LEAST 130 LBS OF FORCE (MINI-MAG HP’S AT 127 ARE CLOSE ENOUGH) AND NO LESS THAN 36 GRAINS (PERSONAL CHOICE). TO DATE I’VE FIRED FEDERAL 510′S, 710′S, WILDCATS, SUPER-X SS JHP & FMJ, MINI-MAG FMJ & JHP, AND THE CCI BLAZER AND ALL HAVE WORKED PERFECTLY.
